Therapists offering Supervision:

At Portsmouth Therapy Partnership we are firm believers in the value of personal therapy whilst undertaking your training to become a Counsellor or Psychotherapist. Personal therapy enables a growth in self-awareness to take place, by highlighting any blind spots you are unaware of.

Above all it can be a safe and supportive space for you to explore unresolved issues either historical or current, such that they do not interfere within your own therapeutic relationship with clients. The greater your self-awareness the greater your potential for being present with your clients. It also offers an opportunity for you to explore how your theoretical training relates to you.

Our therapists have worked with Students from Chichester University, Guildford College, Roehampton (Play Therapy) and Peter Symonds College. Each training establishment has its own guidelines which need to be adhered to when choosing a counsellor. Please ensure with your chosen therapist that they meet with this criteria.

Everyone can experience times when they feel overwhelmed and unsure about their life.  This can feel distressing, confusing and frightening and can lead to unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours and a lack of connection to self and others.  Unresolved issues from the past can also impact on how you are feeling and can lead you to feel stuck and unable to move forward.

If you are experiencing these things it could be helpful to access some individual counselling.

Counselling can help you to explore your situation so that you can begin to gain clarity and increase your awareness.  With your counsellor you can begin to find the coping strategies and resources that will enable and empower you to  cope in those difficult or challenging situations you are facing.  Counselling can help you to gain a greater insight into how you can begin to make the changes in your life that will help you to move your life forward in the direction you would like it to go.
